An introduction to the history of African Cinema from the 19th to the 21st century
Who Is This Course For
- Grades 9-12 and adult learners with an interest in global cinema or African art, history and culture.
- Educators and homeschoolers wanting to globalize their arts curriculum or courses.
- No prior knowledge or experience required
- Basic understanding or experience with visual/film analysis is recommended
Requirements
- If you are new to film studies or need a refresher on film analysis, I strongly recommend you take our ‘Learning to Look at Film’ course before starting this one. In that course, you will develop and practice the basic vocabulary, theory, and critical observation skills required to do a film analysis.
- We do not meet at a specific time. This course is entirely online, asynchronous and self-paced.
- To receive a Certificate of Completion for PD/CEU credit hours or course equivalency documentation, you must complete at least 80% of the course and all activities, quizzes, and coursework.
